Coiba

Un ecosistema extraordinario que se conoce mejor cuando se entiende por qué está protegido.

An island preserved for extraordinary reasons

Coiba lies at the heart of a marine national park in Panama’s Pacific and forms part of a World Heritage site. Its isolation helped preserve forests, coastlines and marine diversity that attract divers and nature travelers.

Planning a visit

Most trips depart from Santa Catalina with local operators. Sea conditions may change schedules or prevent navigation, so flexibility matters. Entry, activities, fees and visitor capacity are governed by official conditions that may change.

The rules are not an obstacle added to the trip. They are why the experience still exists.

Visit responsibly

  • Confirm what the tour includes and who manages park entry.
  • Choose operators that respect protected-area limits.
  • Allow for changing sea conditions.
  • Do not expect resort infrastructure inside the park.

What Coiba is not

Coiba is not land available for private real-estate projects. Property, lodging and investment activity take place outside the park, particularly around Santa Catalina and other coastal areas, each with its own circumstances.
